Plainfield, NJ – Pedestrian Dies in Crash at Norwood & Manning Ave

Plainfield, NJ (September 8, 2024) – A pedestrian was killed after a traffic accident in the North Plainfield area on Wednesday, September 4. The deadly crash occurred at the corner of Norwood Avenue and Manning Avenue late that night around 9:05 p.m. Local reports indicated that a female pedestrian was crossing the intersection when she was hit by a northbound driver on Norwood. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene after being notified of a serious pedestrian-vehicle collision. The injured party, a North Plainfield resident, was Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick Hospital by North Plainfield Fire and local EMS personnel for the treatment of critical injuries. She was later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased victim has been withheld. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
