The driver of the Jeep, 62-year-old Stanley Kahana from Philadelphia, PA, and the driver of the Toyota, 53-year-old Jennifer Hufnell from Deptford, NJ, were both killed in the impact. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the deadly crash is currently available. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of Stanley Kahana and Jennifer Hufnell at this hard time.
Deadly Head-on Collisions in New Jersey
New Jersey has a lot of long two-lane roads. It only takes a second for a driver who isn’t paying attention to enter oncoming traffic and hit someone head-on. In these kinds of accidents, people are much more likely to be seriously or fatally hurt. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) said that in the past year, nearly 58 percent of head-on accidents killed someone. Head-on collisions happen more often in rural places. An estimated 13 percent of all fatal accidents in the country are head-on impacts, and a little over seven percent of deadly accidents in cities happen when two cars collide head-on. If someone close to you is suddenly killed in a car crash, you may be able to pursue justice by seeking a wrongful death claim.
