Manchester, NJ – 13 Injured In Collision At NJ-571 & Hope Chapel Rd

Manchester, NJ (April 19, 2024) – On Tuesday, April 16, several people were hurt after a car accident in the Manchester area. The crash took place at the intersection of NJ-571 and Hope Chapel Road early that morning around 8:30 a.m. Local reports revealed that a transit van and a passenger car collided at the scene.

It was later revealed that the Ford Transit van was traveling southbound when it collided with an Acura sedan as it attempted to make a left turn onto Ridgeway Boulevard. The Acura reportedly had a green light at the time of the impact. The crash caused the sedan to be pushed into the parking lot of a nearby business where it hit a parked car and nearly hit a utility pole. A total of 11 students and two drivers were injured in the crash, and the injured parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment of sustained injuries. Four students in serious condition were transferred to Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune and seven others were taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.

The driver of the Acura, 53-year-old Tracey Kahn of Lacey, was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment, while the driver of the van, 20-year-old Dvora Katz of Jackson, was hospitalized at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. The students on board were reportedly from Maayan Academy. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
