Jersey City, NJ – Pedestrian Critically Hurt at Manila Ave & 14th St

Jersey City, NJ (October 2, 2024) – On Sunday, September 29, there were critical injuries after a pedestrian crash in the Jersey City area. The accident took place at the corner of Manila Avenue and 14th Street early that morning around 4:06 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 62-year-old man was attempting to cross the five-lane highway when he was hit by an oncoming sport utility vehicle. 

Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary medical aid. The injured pedestrian was taken to Jersey City Medical Center in critical condition. The 25-year-old Secaucus man driving the Toyota Rav4 was headed westbound at the time of the accident. The area was temporarily closed while local authorities were present.
