Greenwich, NJ – Juvenile Killed in Tractor-trailer Crash on I-78

Greenwich, NJ (May 24, 2024) – On Wednesday, May 22, a juvenile was killed after a crash involving a tractor-trailer in the area of Greenwich Township. The deadly crash was reported on Interstate 78 near mile marker 6.2 late that night, around 11:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that five people were traveling in a passenger car when it crashed into a semi-truck on the interstate.

Local reports indicated that the truck was parked on the right shoulder of the highway as the other vehicle was traveling eastbound. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide aid to the involved parties. The driver and a 12-year-old passenger in the car suffered fatal injuries in the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers were hurt in the crash. Those requiring further support were later transported to a local hospital for additional aid. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
