Egg Harbor Township, NJ – Five Injured in Auto Accident on Delilah Rd near Eagon Ave & Canale Dr

Egg Harbor Township, NJ (May 1, 2023) – Several people were transported to area hospitals for the treatment of injuries following an automobile accident that took place in Egg Harbor Township.

Calls for assistance came in surrounding the crash at approximately 9:30 a.m. on April 30.

According to reports provided by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, a 17-year-old was driving a 2008 Mercedes-Benz S550 eastbound on Delilah Road. At the same time, a 2012 GMC Acadia was traveling through the intersection of Canale Drive. As 46-year-old Michele Mammone attempted to turn her vehicle left in front of the Mercedes, they both collided.

The impact of the crash sent the Mercedes down the roadway, where it collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse, which 46-year-old Ayanna Wayner drove. The Chevrolet approximately was ejected approximately 50 yards down the road before coming to a rest. Mercedes-Benz came to rest against the utility pole. The Acadia came to rest, blocking the westbound side of Delilah Road.

The occupants of the Acadia in the Mercedes had to be extricated from their vehicles by area firefighters.

Five people were injured as a result of the crash. Medics provided care to the victims before transporting them to local hospitals.

The incident is being investigated by the Egg Harbor Township Police Department at this time.

We hope the injured victims are able to recover quickly. Our thoughts are with them at this time.
