Edison, NJ – Several Hurt in DUI Crash at NJ-1 & Parsonage Rd
Edison, NJ (November 30, 2024) – On Thursday, November 28, there were multiple injuries after a crash involving an alleged drunk driver in the Edison area. The accident took place on NJ-1 near Parsonage Road early that morning. Local reports revealed that 31-year-old Alyssa Figueredo of Cranford was driving when she ran a red light at the intersection.
She collided with another vehicle containing a family of three. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary medical aid to the involved parties. The driver of the second car, 39-year-old Diego Mejia, was seriously hurt and transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Meija’s wife, Jessica Naranjo, and their 15-year-old daughter suffered life-threatening injuries in the impact. All four parties were hospitalized for treatment. Figueredo was charged with driving under the influence. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
