Cranbury, NJ – Deadly Pileup Rear-End Crash on NJ Tpke

Cranbury, NJ (October 10, 2024) – On Tuesday, October, a man was killed, and others were hurt after a multi-vehicle crash in the Cranbury area. The fatal accident took place on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 69 early that morning, around 6:50 a.m. Local reports revealed that the crash took place when traffic stopped in the northbound lanes of the roadway. 

It was then that a sport utility vehicle hit a Volkswagen, which caused that vehicle to rear-end a pickup truck and another car. The pickup then hit a concrete barrier, and the Volkswagen caught fire. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 40-year-old man, sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead. The drivers of the SUV and pickup were also injured. No other information has been provided at this time. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked to clear the scene. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
