Carlstadt, NJ – Box Truck Crash on NJ-17 Takes One Life
Carlstadt, NJ (April 13, 2023) – A crash reported in Bergen County early Thursday morning claimed one person’s life. The accident was reported to the emergency officials at approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 13.
According to investigative reports provided by Sgt. John Cleary, a passenger vehicle was traveling north on New Jersey State Route 17 when it collided with a box truck near the Carlstadt Ice Company, located in the 500 block of the roadway.
The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to catch on fire.
Firefighters responded to the scene and went to work quickly on battling the blaze. One person was removed from the passenger vehicle. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is currently being investigated by the Carlstadt Criminal Investigations Unit.
