Bridgewater, NJ – One Killed, Four Hurt in Crash on I-287 at MM 18.4

Bridgewater, NJ (July 5, 2024) – One person was killed and four others injured after a collision in the Bridgewater area on Tuesday, July 2. The deadly accident happened on Interstate 287 SB near mile marker 18.4 that evening around 7:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that an Infiniti passenger vehicle and a Nissan passenger car were traveling southbound on the roadway at the time of the crash. 

It was reported that the two cars collided on the interstate under circumstances that are still being elucidated by local law enforcement officials. After the impact, the Infiniti drove across all lanes on the road, left the roadway to the right, and hit multiple trees. The driver of the Nissan was not hurt by the impact. The driver of the Infiniti, 24-year-old Felipe Exposito-Sanchez of Linden, sustained serious injuries. His passenger, 35-year-old Lissanne Reyes Mejia of Perth Amboy, was killed in the accident. Three other passengers in the Infiniti also suffered serious injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. However, an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is in progress.
